Company Profile QED Limited is a private company based in the British Channel Islands. Founded in 2001, QED promotes the use of forensic linguistics analysis to assist professional investigators in their fight against fraud. Isabel Picornell, Principal of QED, is a certified fraud examiner (CFE) with over 20 years experience in investigative research, for which she was knighted by the Spanish Crown. She has a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree in Archaeology from the University of Birmingham (UK). Following 6 years sitting as a Magistrate on the South Devon Bench, Isabel expanded her interest in the analysis of ancient language to evaluate the truth of historical accounts into the use of linguistics as an investigative tool. She is currently a doctoral researcher with the Centre for Forensic Linguistics at Aston University (UK), specialising in the identification of linguistic markers of deception in written text.
